We take both vision and medical insurance plans to meet everyone’s needs; we can help you determine your eligibility and which plan is best for you. Medical insurance will cover those individuals with pre-existing medical conditions such as diabetes, cataracts, macular degeneration, chronic dry eye disease, and glaucoma. Medical insurance plans will also cover emergency office visits for red eyes, foreign bodies, and sudden blurred vision. Vision insurance plans cover routine and wellness eyecare exams, contact lens fittings and usually have allotments for materials such as glasses and contact lenses.

We take other miscellaneous plans, so please call our office if you don’t see your insurance plan listed. We can also calculate your vision insurance out of networks costs or evaluate if your medical plan will actually give you better coverage, as many medical plans offer a wellness vision exam once every one or two years. Take note that sometimes you will receive a medical insurance card from your employer, but not always a vision insurance card. We will be happy to assist you in determining which insurance plan you may have, if any.
Although, it’s technically the patient’s responsibility to understand their insurance benefits, our staff will work very hard to ensure you receive the best coverage possible and explain your coverage to the best of their knowledge. Sometimes it will be necessary to call the customer service number on the back of your card to receive all the information you need prior to your exam. We also ask you provide all insurance information when you make the exam so we can better assist you.
